New information has been revealed about Pokémon Sun & Moon! Heres the announcement video:
First it shows that several older Pokémon have newAlola forms:
Exeggutorsnew form resembles a palm tree, and is Grass/Dragon type.
VulpixandNinetalesbecome white and are Ice and Ice/Fairy type respectively.
SandshrewandSandslashalso become white (with Sandshrew resembling an igloo) and both become Ice/Steel type with the ability Snow Cloak.
is a bird Pokémon that has a different form on each of Alolas islands. Baile Style is Fire/Flying, Pom-Pom Style is Electric/Flying, Pau Style is Psychic/Flying, Sensu Style is Ghost/Flying. It also has a new move
is a ball-shaped Rock/Flying Pokémon. Its ability
removes its rocky exterior to reveal a core inside, which can be one of 4 different colors.
Next its revealed that many Pokémon are rideable in the game – on ground as well as in water and flying.
TheIsland Challengeis introduced, which appears to be a replacement for Gyms. On each of the four islands trials must be completed, and there is a Trial Captain for each set of trials.Totem Pokémonawait at the end of each trial – these are regular Pokémon such asGumshoosbut are larger and powered up with an aura. They bring in other Pokémon to assist them.
Finally,Z-Movesare introduced. These are special, powerful moves – one for each type – that can be used once only per battle. The revealed moves so far are:
