As revealed exactly one year ago today, the game takes place inside Lumiose City in Kalos, which is undergoing a redevelopment plan. It was revealed the first partner Pokémon areChikorita,Tepig, orTotodile. Various characters are introduced, then we see theWild Zones, areas where wild Pokémon thrive.
A new battle system is present, which appears to be more real-time rather that turn-based. Moves can have a longer or shorter reach or different areas of effect. Pokémon appear to be able to dodge moves and attack from different angles. Mega Evolution is confirmed to make a return, although no new Mega Evolutions were revealed. Screenshots:
